TACSS is an organization founded in 1981 dedicated to the conservation of and education about cactus, succulents and other desert plants through the disemination of information and coordination of activities among the affiliate societies.

There are two scheduled meetings per year. The first is a business meeting held in Austin in conjunction with the ACSS (Austin) Spring Show & Sale. The second annual meeting takes place in the form of a seminar hosted by one of the affiliate societies in the fall.

The TACSS 2011 Fall Seminar was held in Kerrville on Oct 1 & 2
